The Adhara Academy Chronicles 2

Lorraine Leydon was the first person in the long illustrious history of the Academy to ever be removed as the Student Council President for any reason other than ill health or injury, and whilst her removal was just another of the many things Lorraine was fated to be remembered in history for, it created an issue for the other students. After the victory party at Rumpton Court Palace, Ta-Shra arrived back at the dormitory apartment she shared with Lorraine in the early hours of the morning. She had driven back to the school in one of Adhara’s self-driving cars with her brother and their friends, before parting company with them in the hall and heading off to her dormitory to make some pretence of going to sleep. Ta-Shra hadn’t expected to find Lorraine at home. Despite what Tiger-Lily had said about Lorraine being expelled, Ta-Shra couldn’t bring herself to believe the process had been that quick and thus had assumed Lorraine would either be in the hospital having her wrists heal...

The Admirals Office

Realising that you’ve tarried for too long you decide to head over to Admiral Hag’s office. There isn’t much that you can do here now anyway. You slip the note into an airtight evidence container for the moment. Even though it didn’t provide any additional evidence the note itself is physical proof that someone tried to threaten you. When you find the culprit and you’re certain that you will, this note can be used as evidence.

You take the evidence container with you when you leave the apartment. Even though you don’t trust the Adhara Security Force you’ll have to leave the note with them to maintain the chain of custody. You climb into your self drive car and request to be taken to the Admiral’s office. The car chirps an “Affirmative” and drives further down Electric Avenue. Within five minutes the car comes to a halt next to an imposing office building with the Alliance insignia emblazoned over the entrance.

You enter the building and are quickly taken to Admiral Hag’s office. The admiral is sitting at her desk working on something when you are shown in. Despite her white hair and vaguely aged appearance you are still able to recognise Admiral Hag on sight. Before Nymphomania Hag was elevated to the admiralty when she was still the captain of a space ship, she made a name for herself using her heritage as a Lilitian succubus to its full extent. Admiral Hag single-handedly convinced half a dozen planets to join the Alliance and she has descendants from each one of those races to prove that she’s willing to go to any lengths to get the job done.

For a moment you wonder if Admiral Hag’s willingness to do anything to achieve her goals could have lead her to join forces with criminals. The alliance service pays very well and as an admiral with such extensive achievements under her belt Hag is no doubt raking the money in but the trade in illegal drugs is very lucrative too. In the Alliance there’s no such thing as having too much money.

Admiral Hag looks up as your enter the room, her face shows an expression of annoyance. “Ah, Commander Courtney. Thank you for joining me at last. Adhara informed me that you asked to be taken to your lodgings first. I do hope that everything was to your satisfaction,” the Admiral says with a snare.

“The accommodations are very nice, however...” you respond deciding that it’s best not to try to make an excuse for why you didn’t come here as soon as your arrived on the station. The admiral is clearly annoyed at your chosen course of action. “I found this note attached to my luggage when I arrived. It seems that someone has discovered why I’m here.”

You hand the evidence container with the note in it to Admiral Hag who turns it over and reads the threat, “You say this was found on your luggage?” Admiral Hag asks looking up at you with surprise. “At the docking terminal?”

“No,” you reply a slight smugness creeping over you at the expression on the admiral’s face. You’ve managed to evade any questions as to why you were late. “I found the note on my luggage inside my apartment.”

Admiral Hag glances at you with a hint of suspicion, “What did the security team make of it?

Make an excuse about why you didn’t call security

Tell Admiral Hag your suspicions.
